Meet The Team

SEAN ZHAO

Sean is a credentialed healthcare actuary with both strategic and operating expertise. He most recently served as SVP and leader of the payer & provider markets at Cogitativo, a healthcare ML/AI firm focused on clinical predictions to improve patient outcomes. He previously worked as an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey, he served as the Co-Leader of the Managed Medicaid Domain while also leading payer economics and resiliency research for the Firm. Prior to that, Sean worked at Mercer as a healthcare actuary. Sean graduated first in his class at Bentley University and was the first person to graduate with a degree in Actuarial Science. Sean is a first-generation immigrant and currently lives in New York City (Sutton Place) with his significant other Jessica, who is a Radiotherapy Physicist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

STEVE GIATTINO

Steve most recently worked as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at EasyHealth, a venture-backed healthcare services company focused on transforming home health, where he continues advising on strategy and business development as a Strategic Advisor and Board Member. He previously worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, focused on healthcare growth strategy. Steve served eight years in the U.S. Army as an Officer and Apache helicopter pilot, including 3 deployments to Afghanistan, and continues serving as an Intelligence Officer in the Army Reserves. He has an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and is an Honor Graduate of West Point. He lives in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, with his wife Stephanie, who is a Physician (Internal Medicine and Rheumatology). His son, Philip, is 3 years old and loves planes, trains, and trucks, his daughter, Sophia, is nearly 6 months, as well as the family’s miniature goldendoodle dog, Lily.

ALEXANDER MEARS

BOARD MEMBER

Alex has spent two decades in large cap private equity focused on software, business and government services. Alex started his career at McKinsey and Blackstone, but took a hiatus from his private equity career in 2008 and served in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq as an officer with the U.S. Navy and as a Foreign Service Officer.

Alex was most recently a Principal at The Carlyle Group where he focused on government services and software and sat on the Boards of multiple portfolio companies, including: Two Six Technologies (software), CNSI (software) and Paradigm Precision (aerospace). Alex also serves on the Board of Trustees of Project Healing Waters.

Additionally, Alex is an Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business where he teaches "Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition".

Alex has an M.Sc. from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University. He is a CFA Charterholder.

STEVE RESSLER

BOARD MEMBER

Steve is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at The Brydon Group, a private equity fund that partners with outstanding entrepreneurs to acquire small businesses.

Previously, Steve was the founder and CEO of GovLoop, connecting over 250,000+ government employees, which he successfully sold in 2009. He was also Chief Marketing Officer of Granicus, one of the fastest-growing software platforms serving government customers under Vista ownership.

He was most recently President of Callyo, a software and solutions provider for law enforcement, which he grew and ultimately led the sale of to Motorola Solutions in 2020. Steve started his career at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) where he worked for five years in a range of technology and counterterrorism roles. He sits on the Boards of Surecost and Munetrix (software).

Additionally, Steve is an Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business where he teaches "Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition."

Steve has a masters from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Sociology from Miami University (Ohio).
